The administration of the University of Liberia (UL), with approval of the Executive Committee of the Board of Trustees, has suspended all activities at the institution until otherwise ordered.
According to UL release the announcement was based on a former outburst on campus.
The UL release stated that it can be recalled that on November 18, 2013, the University of Liberia Student Union (ULSU) presented a position paper to the Vice President for Student Affairs, listing issues which they thought needed immediate attention. Those issues were predicated on the registration process and mid-term examinations.
According to the release, as a consequence, the UL has been engulfed in an unprecedented violence which it has not experienced for the last five years.
"In view of the foregoing, the administration has resolved to suspend all activities until calm can be restored on all campuses.
What do you think? Should student be suspended for their violent act of conduct? or should the University remained closed until further notice?
