Nineteen schools in Sarawak were closed Thursday due to floods. According to the state education department, as at 9am, a total of 29 schools were reported to be affected by flood waters. Out of these, nine were closed ahead of the start of the school year. According to Minister Datuk Fatimah Abdullah "Ten other schools were closed this morning (Thursday) due to flooding in surrounding areas.
