A suspect is in custody in the disappearance of a 10-year-old Missouri girl who was snatched from a neighbor's front yard Tuesday. The abduction of Hailey Owens from a Springfield, Mo., home Tuesday afternoon triggered Amber Alerts in Missouri, Kansas and Oklahoma. On Wednesday morning, Springfield Police Chief Paul Williams told reporters a suspect identified as Craig Michael

Wood had been arrested after police, acting on a tip, located his vehicle at a home in Springfield.
The fate of the girl remains unknown at this time and Williams would not elaborate further on the investigation. But OzarksFirst.com reported that online jail records showed Wood was booked on charges of 1st degree murder.

Witnesses say a man grabbed Hailey from in front of a neighbor’s home and drove away in a gold 2008 Ford Ranger Tuesday afternoon. The suspect drove down the street several times before approaching Hailey and pulling her into his truck around 5 p.m. Tuesday, according to witnesses.
