Colorado has become the first state in the US to control and regulate a legal recreational marijuana industry. Voters in Colorado approved recreational marijuana in 2012, but Colorado was quick to implement the laws allowing approved marijuana businesses to open today on New Year's Day. People went out today and openly bought marijuana without the fear of arrest.
